SB-800 Light tests

I decided that I had put off testing my SB-800 and SU-800 long enough. Here are a few sample shots. They were all created in my living room with nothing more than a piece of green felt, a SU-800 , two SB-800 , a Nikon D70 and except for the remote two pieces of acrylic used for covering florescent light fixtures. The flashes were set to +.3 ev and -1ev respectively.

Sunday Drive

Manitoba Hwy 23

You just never know when a photo oppertunity is going to strike.

Oh the sweet sights of new gear

I don’t know about you but I’m still salivating over the specs of the new D3 and D300. I will give a full review as soon as I can get my hands on them (hint hint Lindsey).

Nikon Rumors

Oh the anticipation of a new body. What is it about camera bodies that gets everyone so hyped up?

Personally, I think we should be paying more attention to the lenses. So let’s really get the rumors into full swing.

To be released on July 25, 2007:

600mm AFS EDIF VRIII 2.8 (yes, I said 2.8)

50mm AFS EDIF 1.2

70-180 AFS ED VRII Micro 2.8

Of course, more will be released in time for Christmas.

Now, doesn’t that just make you salivate with anticipation? Let me know what your dream lens or lenses would be.

Nikon D3

Let me throw my .02 cents into the Nikon rumor mill. My rep (who I won’t name for his benefit, but those of you that work with me know who I am referring to) has told me that he is going to a big conference end of July, beginning of August. He has been told nothing of a new D3. In fact he gets his rumors from me. Now having been in the retail business long enough, this conference is probably to launch the fall line up (read new for Christmas). However, if I were a betting man I would wager that Nikon has a trick or two up its sleeve and we may just see the launch of the D3?.

Now that that is out of the way. D4 rumors anyone? I hear that it will be a 645 sensor LBCAST, 16 frames per second quad processor with tethered 200 GB hard drive, multi cam 8000 AF with 107 AF points and can make your coffee in the morning too.

Of course, immediately following will be the new D5 with holographic HDR capture.

Enough with the rumors already!

It had been a long time since I have updated my blog. I have been very busy preparing for my mother’s arrival from South Carolina today, and setting the ground work in place for the up coming school year and the official  launch of The Nature of Art. Enough about me. Let’s get to the real reason for today’s post. It is Independance day. Let the fireworks begin. However, let us also take a moment to give thanls for the freedoms that we enjoy and the sacrifices that make them all possible.

Graphically Speaking

Graphically speaking… My take on the bridge that has become synonymous with Winnipeg.
